Iranian officials urged to unite after nuclear plant blast
Iran’s supreme leader has addressed the country’s parliament amid growing divisions and unanswered questions over the explosion at the Natanz nuclear facility earlier this month. Ayatollah Khamenei called on legislators to unite.
Al Jazeera's Assed Baig reports from Tehran.
Why wasn't Iran colonised?
How did Iran (or Persia as it was known back then) survive the Age of Colonialism? Most nations in Africa and Asia were subject to a foreign power during the 19th and 20th centuries and yet Iran managed to circumvent this. To find out how and why watch this short and simple animated history documentary.
How is IRAN conquering the MIDDLE EAST?
The Chernobyl disaster of 1986 marked the beginning of the end for the Soviet Union. Suddenly, even the communist elites didn’t trust the system. Mikhail Gorbachev stated that it was Chernobyl and not Perestroika that led to the Soviet collapse.
Thirty years later, Iran accidentally shot down a Ukrainian plane. Suddenly, even the strongest supporters of the Ayatollahs were ashamed. Thousands of people have protested against the regime. And this leads VisualPolitik to wonder…
To what extent are we looking at the Iranian version of Chernobyl? What is really going on in the Islamic Republic of Iran? We’ll tell you all about it in this video.
Can CORONAVIRUS end the IRAN regime
Iran is one of the countries most affected by SARS Coronavirus 2. Add to this the fact that they have been isolated from the international market for more than two years, with economic crises and without the ability to make international transactions, and we have the recipe for colossal humanitarian misfortune. It's not just that they have tens of thousands of infected people, they have fewer resources to treat the sick than any European country.
Faced with such a situation, both Hassan Rouhani and Ayatollah Khamenei tried to hide the problem until it was too late.
As if that were not enough, Iran has rejected international aid: both from the United States and from NGOs and Doctors Without Borders. In other words, Iran wants to solve the biggest health crisis of the 21st century on its own... Despite having no means to do so. Why do we say that Iran is failing in its fight with the coronavirus? What consequences can Covid-19 have for the Ayatollah regime?
Iran general: thousands of missiles ready to hit Israel
) The deputy commander of Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guard, Gen. Hossein Salami, lashed out at Israel on Friday.
Speaking ahead of Friday prayers on al-Quds day, Salami warned Israel that "100,000 missiles are ready to be launched into the sky and hit the heart of the Zionist regime."
Gen. Hossein Salami also hit out at officials in Iraq's semi-autonomous northern region and other unnamed regional powers accused of provoking unrest along Iran's western and northwestern borders, where Iranian forces have clashed with Kurdish separatists.
Iran does not recognise Israel and has marked al-Quds day since the start of its 1979 Islamic revolution.
Al-Quds is a historic Arabic name for Jerusalem, and Iran says the day is an occasion to express support for the Palestinians and emphasize the importance of Jerusalem for Muslims.
Netanyahu to Iran: Your plan to destroy Israel will fail.
War with Iran! Are you kidding me? says Dennis Kucinich
Don't we have enough wars that we're fighting in the United States? Do we need another war? Did I miss something that we somehow ran out of wars? ask US Congressman Dennis Kucinich.
We cannot pretend that the United States is in a position where we can, or have the right, or have the money, to rule the world.
We have enough time taking care of things back here at home, where we have 50 million people without healthcare, 40 million people who are out of work, millions of people who are losing their homes, and we're going to tell the Iranians how to run their country! Are you kidding me!
